ProCAncer-I workshop with the Italian association in collaboration with CAND and CNR

On 15th of June 2023, a ProCAncer-I workshop was organized by the Italian association in collaboration with FPO and CNR. Since the associations sites were spread out across Italy, the meeting was held online.

At the event, representatives of the following associations were present:
The Italian Federation of Voluntary Associations in Oncology (FAVO). It is a federation composed of over 500 associations dedicated to serving cancer patients and their families. Its mission is to advocate for the rights of cancer patients, improve access to care, promote the most up-to-date treatments, and provide psychological support. F.A.V.O. also works to enhance the role of patients in decision-making processes and promote rehabilitation as a priority intervention for improving the quality of life of cancer patients.
Italian Association of Cancer Patients, Relatives and Friends (AIMAC). The purpose of the Association is providing information on cancer and therapies to patients, their families and friends; provide psychological support to patients, to promote initiatives to spread them more widely as possible information on cancer. It is made up of patients , relatives, students, researchers, physicians, psychologists, psychotherapists and journalists.
EUROPA UOMO Italia. Europa Uomo is the Italian Forum of the European movement Europa Uomo – The voice of Men with Prostate Cancer in Europe -, consisting of 27 countries, dedicated to achieving the 10 goals of the Manifesto for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of prostate cancer
The Oncological Association of Pisa “Piero Trivella”. It is a Pisan local Association aimed at organizing assistance to cancer patients and their families.

The audience consisted of the associations of oncology patients (specialized audience). Most of them were healthcare professionals.The representatives of the associations who participated in the event will further promote the project and its objectives within their respective organizations, reaching a wider audience of people who may be interested in the initiative. It’s worth noting that the F.A.V.O is made up of over 500 member associations.
