The applicant will work in the Radiology-Unit of the Candiolo Cancer Institute as a Radiologist and will be in charge of the ongoing prospective clinical trial on prostate MRI, including also the enrollment of screening patients. The applicant will also provide support in the development of artificial intelligence systems to detect and characterize prostate cancer lesions. In addition, support to assess quality of MRI examinations and to segment prostate lesions on MRI should be provided during the project.
The research contract will have a duration of 2 years and will be funded by the “ProCancer-I” European Project (reference “952159” – from the call Nº H2020-SC1-FA-DTS-2019-1), granted by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme.
Qualification and expertise
The applicant must be qualified as a consultant in Radiology with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the field of multiparametric prostate MRI. The applicant must have substantial skills in both clinical aspects and research within the field of prostate imaging. However, a broad and substantial competence in all aspects of the different radiological procedures is desired, in particular body CT and body MRI.
Applicant should have good knowledge of English language and knowledge of the Italian language or availability to learn the language within 6 months from taking the job at the Candiolo Cancer Institute.
Obligations: The consultant’s obligations are to participate in the clinical duties of the unit on equal terms with the other consultants. Regarding clinical matters, economic issues and management the consultant refers to the chief consultant of the radiology unit.

Context
Candiolo Cancer Institute is a private non-profit Institute founded and supported by the Fondazione Piemontese per la Ricerca sul Cancro (FPRC) and the Regione Piemonte and operated by the Fondazione del Piemonte per l’Oncologia. It is the only comprehensive cancer center in the Piedmont Region and is a recognized IRCCS (Istituto di Ricovero e Cura a Carattere Scientifico) by the Italian Ministry of Health). The mission of the Institute is to make a significant contribution to fight cancer by understanding the basics and by providing optimal diagnostics and therapeutic services. The interaction between experimental and clinical expertise allows constant transfer of biological models into the clinics. The Radiology unit has approximately 30 full-time positions including 8 staff specialists and 8 doctors in training. The Unit is fully dedicated to oncologic imaging and interventional oncology and, other than prostate imaging and intervention, is equipped with the following equipment: CT, MRI, ultrasound, convention X ray, interventional radiology suite.
